Mary Lola Bland Hardiman Moore, born April 9, 1913 to James Albert Bland and Ophelia Wakham in Limestone County, Alabama. She was one of six children. Lola married Elmer Hardiman in 1930 and they had four children. She was a member of Green Street Church of Christ in Nashville and a past member of Grace Baptist and Park Ave Baptist Church and Athens Church of Christ in Athens, Al. She loved to cook and was a wonderful cook. She had a beautiful voice and is remembered by her children for the singing of church and folk-lore songs she would sing while preparing meals. Lola also enjoyed playing the foot-pump organ. Lola is preceded in death by her husband Elmer who passed away in 1968. Survivors include her children Dorothy Toombs and husband Art (deceased). Joyce Swafford and husband David, Shirley Bedwell and husband Charles (deceased), and Jim Hardiman and his wife Jo. Eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. Celebration of life services will be on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from the chapel of Ellis Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Dr. Doug Varnado will officiate the services.Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Madison, TN. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from 4-8 pm for visitation with the family.
