Audrey Townsend Obituary
Audrey Armstrong Townsend, Age 92, of Nashville, died surrounded by her loving family on December 16, 2013 at her home in Nashville. She was the mother of nine children, who she raised, loved and molded into caring and loving people. They returned her love with the care they have given her through the years.
She is preceded in death by Husband, Edward Townsend, and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by children; Patricia McGee, Joyce Hamilton, Judy (David) Nix, Leon (Michelle) Beech, Barbara Smith, Deborah Farley, Roxie (Larry) Lamb, Marion (Milton) Carney and Joey (Michelle) Townsend. 23 Grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and many friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 4-8pm and Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 10am-8pm at Ellis Funeral Home. Thursday, December 19, 2013 Mrs. Townsend will lie in State at Central Pike Church of Christ, 4240 Central Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076. From 10am until time of Funeral Service at 12pm, Brother Larry Lamb and Brother Mike Amick officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
