Ricky G. Slate of Old Hickory, TN, passed away August 29, 2018, at the age of 58.

This quote so beautifully encapsulates the way that Ricky lived every day of his life. Ricky went home to heaven yesterday and is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, whom Ricky loved with all of his heart. Our family is filled with gratitude for everyone who loved, supported and encouraged Ricky as he travelled this journey for the past three years. Your friendship was a precious gift to him and he truly valued and treasured his ever-expanding circle of family and friends.
Ricky's celebration of life service will be on Saturday September 1 at Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00. The service will be at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Place, an organization that empowers special needs adults by helping them secure housing and employment. We miss Ricky greatly, (especially that smile!) but rejoice in knowing that he is worshipping and celebrating in his heavenly home.
"When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory!"
