In the quiet dawn of a Nashville morning, the world grew still as Rawle Bertrand Crawford, born under the Guyanese sun on April 24, 1965, concluded his earthly sojourn on March 7, 2024. At the age of fifty-eight, Rawle, a man of peace, a loving husband, and father, and a stalwart in his vocation, left behind the echoes of a life rich in devotion and service.

For twenty-two years, Rawle's presence graced the halls of Cloverbottom/Jordan Center, where he rose to the esteemed roles of supervisor, CPR instructor, and PCM instructor. His hands, ever ready to guide and heal, became the silent sentinels of safety and care for those within his charge.

Rawle, the traveler, charted the geography of his heart with each journey taken, each horizon embraced. His truest compass, however, always pointed homeward-to the hearth where love and laughter were perennially in bloom, where Ertha, his beloved, and their children, Rushell, Racquel, Ronley, and Rushanna, along with six grandchildren, were his most cherished destinations. He was the son of Bertrand Crawford and the late Joy Crawford, Brother of Nolan, Berkley, Deron and Stacia Crawford. Extended family members such as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws all helped shaped him into the man he was.

On March 22, 2024, from 1pm until the shadows lengthen at 5pm, Ellis Funeral Home, nestled at 2627 Nolensville Pk, Nashville, TN, will open its doors to those whose lives were touched by Rawle's gentle spirit. Here, amidst the hush of remembrance, we will gather to bid farewell and to honor a soul who, like a quiet star, steered by its own true north, has slipped beyond our mortal skies.
