Wilma Mays Obituary
Wilma M. Mays of Nashville, TN passed away June 19, 2017, at the age of 77.
Wilma was born and raised in Macon County before moving to Nashville. She graduated from Litton High School in 1958 and married her husband Gaylon on March 28, 1961; they were together for 58 years. She was a beautician for Patio Coiffure in Green Hills and was active in the Williamson County Shrine Club. She and Gaylon were also houseparents to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home. Most of all, Wilma loved to garden and ride the motorcycle with her husband Gaylon, from time to time. Wilma was a loving wife, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Boyd & Ruth Moore, brother Herald Moore and his wife Ann.
She is survived by her husband Gaylon Mays, brother Wendall Moore and the late Jo Ella Moore, sister Hilda (Charles) Hargis, brother-in-laws Dudley and Steve Mays, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of Wilma's life, the family invites friends and loved ones for Visitation on Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Ellis Funeral Home. The Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
