Mary Aycock Obituary

Mary Claudia Aycock of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday,

Born in Birmingham, AL, to the late Ralph and Mary Glasgow Aycock on November 7, 1946, she was always known to her family and friends as "Claudia." She graduated from Minor High School, married, and had a daughter, Elisa. Claudia did administrative and secretarial work for many years, ran a home healthcare agency for a short time, and ended her working career as a caregiver to the elderly.
Claudia was an avid reader and enjoyed working in the yard, decorating her home and doing a variety of crafts. She made a warm and loving home for her daughter and travelled back to Birmingham frequently to spend time with her family and friends.
Claudia was a loving daughter, sister and aunt, and a wonderful mother. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Aycock; her mother, Mary Glasgow Aycock; and her brother, Mark Ray Aycock. She is survived by her daughter, Elisa Walden of Montgomery, AL; brothers, Jamie (Carla) Aycock of Crestwood, AL, and Jamie Lee Aycock of Crumley Chapel, AL; nieces, Rachel (Jeremy) Ellard of Irondale, AL and Victoria Peebles of Crumley Chapel, AL; nephew, Alan (Jessica) and great-nephews Jamie & Jeffrey Aycock of Crestwood, AL; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Her daughter wishes to thank Dr. Jill Jones and several other physicians at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, for the care they gave; special friends and neighbors in Murfreesboro, TN, who helped make it possible for Claudia to spend her last few years at home; and Claudia's faithful canine companions, Sadie and Lucky, who brought her laughter and kept her company.
