Judy Beech Nix

Judy Beech Nix was born on April 11, 1948 in Nashville, TN. On Thursday, May 21, 2015, Judy passed away to be with the Lord at the age of 67, while surrounded by her loved ones. Judy was a secretary for David Lipscomb Middle School, and often times was a wedding coordinator. She was a loving, whole-hearted person who loved to do anything that meant helping another. She found blessing in anything and everything, while lifting the hearts of those around her. It only took one conversation to know Judy for the beautiful person that she was and the bliss that came with her warm smile. A devout Christian woman, an adoring mother & nana, a loving wife, a caring sister, and a sincere friend; Judy was all this and much more. She thought herself blessed with so much, and expressed her love and thankfulness for those around her daily- she was the happiest girl in the USA. Her happiness emerged from the happiness of others. Even during difficult times, she still wrote to all her friends, "laugh as no one can hear you, dance like no one can see you, love like you have never been hurt and walk like Jesus is walking right beside you. Love you all." That selfless message of encouragement was a way of life for Judy, and she loved every minute of it. Judy will live on in the memory of those she loved, and will remain in the hearts of those who had the blessing of meeting her.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Lucian Beech & Audrey Townsend, and her brother Leon Beech. She is survived by: her husband David F. Nix Sr., son David F. Nix Jr., daughter Heidi Nix Hanks, and loving grandchildren: Makayla, Drew & Matthew, sisters: Patricia McGee, Joyce Hamilton, Barbara Smith, Deborah Farley, Roxie Lamb, & Marion Carney, and brother Joey Townsend.
The family invites all friends and loved ones for a visitation on Tuesday & Wednesday, May 26th & 27th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. Judy's celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Central Pike Church of Christ (4240 Central Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076): Billy Patton and Josh Whitson will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Middle TN State Veteran's Cemetery, while surrounded by her loved ones.
