Anna Oldham Obituary

Anne Oldham was born in Lancaster, PA on May 20, 1924 and died in Nashville, TN on March 3, 2015. She was the daughter of Ralph and Laura Laushey and earned her bachelor's degree in music from Westchester Teacher's College. She served in the Red Cross in Korea and Japan during the Korean War before becoming a public school music teacher in Geneva, NY and then Memphis, TN. She was married on December 20, 1957 to Robert Wayne Oldham. Anne continued her career in music and became the Principal Second Violinist in the Memphis Symphony and was a member of the Richardson Symphony and the Dallas Civic Symphony. As a 35 year member of the Church of the Advent in Brentwood, TN, she served on the vestry and altar guild and was a member of the choir. She was the Dream Coordinator for the Dream Makers organization of Nashville, providing the fondest wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses and was later honored for her service as the City of Nashville Volunteer of the Year. She also served as a volunteer for the This and That charity thrift store.
Anne was preceded in death by brothers Louis and Robert Laushey and sister Mary Brunner.
She is survived by children: Larry (Mindy) Oldham, Cindy (Steve) Hughes, Brad (Laura) Oldham, and grandchildren Brooke and Colston Oldham.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church in Mt. Juliet, TN at 2905 N. Mt. Juliet Rd with visitation at 11 a.m. and the service at noon.
The Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Advent at 5501 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220.
